Mr. Astwood, is a partner in the company Lee & Astwood Architects Ltd. which began business in May of 2004 as a Turks & Caicos Islands architectural services com
pany.
Mr. Astwood's education started with a Certificate in General Business (1990) followed by a Diploma in Architecture (1994) at the College of Arts, Science and Technology (CAST) in Kingston, Jamaica. Realizing his passion for Architecture he embarked on and completed his Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Studies with Honors (1998) at the University of Technology in Kingston, Jamaica. Mr Astwood's education continued at the Florida A & M University in Tallahassee, Florida where he received a Master in Architecture (2002).
Mr. Astwood began his professional career in the Turks & Caicos Islands and worked at the Public works Department for several years before becoming the Acting Government Chief Architect and Counter Part for the period of two years, completing several residential and commercial projects.
In the short time since establishing
the company, Mr. Astwood and Mr. Lee have developed one of the leading
firms in the Turks & Caicos Islands gaining significant market
share while growing the employee base rapidly and adding an Interior
Design department.
Mr. Astwood is an
active member of the Grand Turk Chamber of commerce, Resource and
Development committee of the Grand Turk Methodist Church, Turks &
Caicos Amateur Athletic Associations, Turks & Caicos Red Cross
Society and the Kiwanis club.
