Leslie Williams, B.I.D., Director of Interior Design
Ms Williams joined Lee & Astwood Architects in November, 2004 as Director of the Interior Design department and offers our clients a wealth of experience and creativity garnered from over 30 years as an Interior Design professional.
Ms Williams was educated at the University of Manitoba where she received her Bachelor of Interior Design, Faculty of Architecture (1976). After graduation, Ms Williams began her professional career in Canada, working as a designer, college instructor and becoming the principle partner in an interiors consulting group in 1981. In 1985 the group joined with the The Larken Group, a Canadian development company where she became the Director of Design and Construction - Interiors Division and worked closely with the real estate leasing team.
Ms Williams moved to the British Virgin Islands in 1990 to start an interiors department for the architectural group OBM Limited. She relocated to Miami in 2001, continuing to work on hospitality and residential projects with the OBM groups in Miami and the Turks & Caicos and on corporate projects with the International Design Partnership.
Ms. Williams has completed corporate, resort and residential interior architecture and design projects for clients in Canada, the United States and the Caribbean and has practiced extensively in the Eastern Caribbean. Her understanding of the region and the love for tropical design is mixed with strong interpretive skills and an in depth knowledge of all aspects of the interior design profession. Her ability to provide creative solutions to suit developers, private owners, local builders and artists has resulted in many successful projects throughout the region.
